Summer Painting
I took Painting I over the first part of the summer semester. Overall, I thought the outcome was pretty good for my first painting class and first attempt with Oil. It became quite obvious that I have not drawn in quite some time though.
The assignments were to draw/paint the same still life in 6 steps. The first being an outline, the second a pencil shading. The third step was to do a color study by painting each object with 3 flat colors (no blending). The 4th, blending. The 5th, blending, but to make the still life look out of focus. and then finally, a ‘painterly’ painting of the still life.
